As a gerontologist and
the President of our company, I'd like to thank
you for visiting us, and share
with you our founding principle: “We
respect the people we are privileged to serve;
growing older isn’t easy!”
We spend the first
part of our lives looking forward to gaining our
independence, having a family of our own, a
career, a home, and friends. But life takes a
turn as we age, and we begin to lose the very
things we spent much of our lives gaining.
Things change, and with these
changes comes fear, apprehension, and a sense of
loss.
It’s often very difficult to
personally experience these changes, and only
natural to make every attempt to hold fast to
independence and deny the need for assistance.
Many people think of asking for help as a sign of
weakness and with it, a loss of self-respect, and
a sense of “giving in”.
Northwest Healthcare, Inc. believes that, with understanding
and compassion, we can maximize dignity and
individual choice. We strive to develop supportive
plans that meet the care needs and safety of each
person, while coordinating other important
aspects such as medical care, family dynamics,
